Countdown to Casey and John's Wedding

August flew by and September is almost over! Why do the days go by so fast? We celebrated John's 26th birthday with a family dinner at Ditka's in Chicago. What an exciting month it was for Casey and John, they have been busy with wedding preparations, John started his new job in the City, no more commuting to the Western Suburbs! Although we will miss our impromptu lunch dates with him.

I had great fun at our September retreat at the  Hampton Inn again! I always get a lot of sewing done; I worked on a customer T-shirt quilt, and finished a couple of quilt tops; so much laughter and, as always, good food! The next retreat is coming up beginning of December, and all the tables are already booked!

Little man Simon had his big day on September 8. We celebrated his baptism at St. Benedict's in Chicago. What a beautiful ceremony in a beautiful church! Uncle John and Aunt Kristi are his  God Parents. Afterwards we enjoyed all the great food Luke had prepared! Luke, you're an awesome chef!

Several friends have asked about Simon's little helmet. Simon developed a flat spot on the right side of his head because he prefers sleeping in the same position.  With the help of this very light weight helmet (Doc Band) his head rounded out beautifully, and he'll be done with wearing it next week. It only took 2 months to help shape his perfect little head. Fran and Luke had the helmet 'wrapped' with the Bears' logo. He's #1 one Baby Bear!

Of course, I've been quilting my heart out on all those customer quilts. Here are some examples:

Marcia's Quilt, A Bonnie Hunter Pattern

Cher's BIG Heart Quilt

Winks' Shop Sample for Prairie Stitches

Peggy's Quilt, Another BOM from Prairie Stitches

Marcia's Beautiful Black and Yellow Quilt

3 Sisters Moda Kit, Shop Sample for Sew Generously
And there were many, many more!

I'm also very proud of the 3rd place ribbon I won at the MQ Today Show in Oconomowoc for quilting Ann's quilt.
