Happy 2013!

We had a very nice Christmas Eve with Family. I'm finishing up my very last customer quilt for 2012. It's my friend Leanne's Christmas Quilt. I'm either a year ahead, but most likely a year behind with this quilt.  Happy New Year!

Christmas is Here!

I delivered the last of my 'to be finished by Christmas' quilt to the customer today! My life was terribly hectic between Houston Quilt Market and yesterday, not counting the two week toothache and root canal! But, I also had a wonderful four day break for quilting retreat, lots of laughter, sewing and good homemade food. I was able to finish four baby quilt tops, four customer bindings, and I even pieced a customer quilt at retreat.

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve, my favorite day of the year. I love our decorated Christmas tree, the opening of gifts with family. I wish we had a second relaxing Christmas day like we have in Germany. Next year we'll have two new family members, a grandson and Casey, our soon to be daughter-in-law. Fran and Luke are expecting their son in March, and, John and Casey will get married in September. Lots of excitement coming in 2013!

Here is a sampling of pictures of these past two months:

Houston Quilt Market 2012

I had a wonderful time at Houston Quilt Market, hanging out with Leanne and Nancy! I was excited to see my 'old' friends, Cathleene and Kim, and hope to see them and my 'new' friends Annie, Linda, Karen and her cousin Linda again next year in the Hyatt Lounge! I guess I was too tired to take pictures when we were enjoying a cocktail in the bar. Here are some photos from Market in no particular order:

Loved the gray fabrics

I'm Back!!!!

I have been extremely busy the last couple of months with finishing quilts for our Prairie Treasures Quilt Show, typing 300 labels, and organizing the 'Judging'.  The show was a big success! Beautiful quilts, great vendors, but, let's face it, it's the 'pulled pork' sandwiches that brings in the crowd.

I'm already working on customer quilts for Christmas gifts. After all, it's almost Halloween!

Retreat is starting tomorrow. I have several baby quilt kits lined up (YES, I'll be a grandma in March), and I'll be working on a T-shirt quilt for a customer. Lots of sewing, laughter and food!

The crowd is slowing down after 4 pm on Saturday
