Back Home

I'm back home from retreat. How can 4 days go so fast? I finished the two quilt tops I had hoped to do. We were snowed in all Friday. 7 inches of snow. The plows couldn't keep up with clearing the roads. Most girls stayed over night in the hotel. Lots of laughter! Nancy spoiled us with cocktails on Thursday! Sandy prepared Ham, Sweet Potatoes and Beans on Thursday night. At one time we had all 5 crock pots going. The dinner was delicious! Vic, Carter (Deb's men), Dave (Chris' husband) and Mike (Wendy's husband) stopped by to check out the happenings.

Happy Birthday Sandy / Retreating

Today we were celebrating Sandy B.'s 65th birthday with a great luncheon at Maggiano's in Naperville. Best food and an excellent Pinot Grigio, but I could have used a little nap afterwards. No time for that!!! I had to get everything ready for quilt retreat.
The retreat is starting tomorrow. Are you saying: 'She is going AGAIN?'. Yes, I am. The only time I can work on my own quilts is at a retreat. Bernina, projects, tools, food, Crockpot, Nesco, wine, it's all packed. Even the snow is holding off till Friday when we're hunkered down at the Hampton Inn.

I hope to have some pictures for you on Sunday. The projects are always so fun and inspiring! Stories will be told and the food is excellent! Even Cosmos and Margaritas are on the menu. Stay tuned!

Winter is here

Yes, unfortunately, winter finally arrived. Windchill 10 below, but the temperature is suppposed to climb up again tomorrow. I'll be happy as long as I can drive to retreat on Thursday. Hampton Retreat again! I will have to finish at least two quilt tops. I want to take them to Germany in February.

I was teaching T-Shirt Quilt class today at the Prairie Shop. I love how everybody starts out with a pile of old T-shirts, and then, voila, several weeks later you end up with a wonderful memory quilt.

On the customer quilt front: I started on Leanne's most gorgeous applique quilt. It's beautiful! I hope she'll like the quilting.

Spring Weather

No sofas
I am trying hard to accomplish things, but it seems to take twice as long as usual to get things done. I finished some customer quilts, and, finally, sold the old sofas and the recliner on Craigs list. We ordered our new sectional yesterday, but, of course, it's on back order, and we won't get it till the end of February. That means, there's plenty of time to paint the walls a different colour!

We have enjoyed the beautiful weather the last couple of weeks. Let's hope there will not be too much snow on Thursday!
